Disaster Strikes just about anywhere and natural disasters are not subject to ethnicity or class divides. However it is the poor in the province who do not have a reliable support structure to fall back on in times of disaster and therefore rely solely on Disaster Relief Organizations such as Mustadafin. The Mustadafin Disaster team has worked in many areas all across the province. Areas Mustadafin has assisted:
1995 - Maconi beam flood,
1996 - Worcester Christmas bomb Blast.
1997 - Philippi, Langa, Crossroad flood and fires
- 1999 - Tornado that hit Manenberg, Gugulethu and Surrey Estate.
2001 - Boland fire
2002 - Boland
2003 - Joe Slovo fire, KTC, Samora & Phillipi floods
- 2004 - Joe Slovo fire and floods
- Heinz Park
- Unathi Section of Crossroads
- West Coast
Areas Mustadafin have assisted through the Disaster Management since winter of 2003 and after.
