Ramadaan & Eid Report Back 2008
While many South African Muslims remain comfortable despite the global food crisis, many others, only neighbourhoods apart, suffer hunger throughout the year.
Ramadaan 1429 saw that poverty-stricken Muslims across the globe were well-tended to by other Muslims. In the Cape community, Mustadafin witnessed the Special Rahmah of Allah SWT descend upon its beneficiaries during this month too, as donations came pouring in from every angle.
Thanks to the Muslim community, Mustadafin provided 463 500 meals to impoverished children, elderly, sickly, women, and men for the month of Ramadaan and fed 10 000 individuals for the day of Eid.
We have also partnered with organizations in Zimbabwe and Malawi in assisting them with their Ramadaan poverty-alleviation programmes in the poverty-stricken communities in these countries.
